Gophers Swim at Home Against Catholic
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College men's and women's swim teams hosted their first home meet of the season Saturday, taking on Catholic University. The Cardinals prevailed 161-37 on the women's side and 170-22 in the men's competition.
The Gopher women took first in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:26.37. The relay was made up of Darcy McFarland (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton), Ella Robinson (Canajoharie, N.Y./Canajoharie), Alejandra Barry-Ruiz (New Haven, Conn./Amity) and Kelci Wood (Spencer, Ind./Owen Valley).
Robinson finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.37. Olivia Reichardt (Monument, Colo./Palmer) was third in the 100 butterfly with an 1:09.93 effort, while Avery McEachern (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) took third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:18.28.
Ben Graff (Baltimore, Md./Friends School) was third for the Gopher men in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:41.96.
Goucher returns to action next Saturday, November 19, when it hosts Marymount (Va.) University in a 1 pm meet at the von Borries Aquatic Center.
