Robinson Finishes 11th in 100 Breastroke B Final at Landmark Championships
BOYDS, Md. - Highlighted by an 11th place finish by sophomore Ella Robinson (Canajoharie, N.Y./Canajoharie) in the women's 100 breaststroke B final, the Goucher women's and men's swimming teams completed day two at the Landmark Swimming Championships Saturday at the Germantown Aquatic Center.
Both Gopher teams continue to sit in sixth place in the team standings. The women have compiled 114 points, while the men have recorded 108 points.
Robinson swam a 1:10.30 in the B final after posting a time of 1:11.42 to qualify.
Alejandra Barry-Ruiz (New Haven, Conn./Amity) reached the B final of the 100 buterfly and finished 13th with a time of 1:02.69 after posting a time of 1:03.92 in the prelims.
Robinson, Barry-Ruiz, Darcy McFarland (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) and Kelci Wood (Spencer, Ind./Owen Valley) finished sixth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.07. That mark was more than four seconds better than the team's season-best in that event.
First year Ben Graff (Baltimore, Md./Friends School) placed 15th in the men's 100 backstroke B final with a time of 59.91 seconds after swimming a 59.09 in the prelims. Richie Bialik (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown) was 15th in the B final of the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 1:59.91.
The Landmark Swimming Championships wrap up Sunday at Germantown Aquatic Center with prelims at 10 am and finals beginning at 4:30 pm.
