Gopher Women Pick Up Win Over Immaculata
IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Goucher College swimming teams competed in a tri-meet against host Immaculata University and Elizabethtown College Friday evening at Alumnae Hall.
The Gopher women split on the evening, defeating the host Mighty Macs 133-105 and falling to the Blue Jays 208-49. Goucher's men fell to Immaculata 135-36 and to Etown 230-13.
The women opened up with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay, posting a time of 2:01.90. The relay consisted of Darcy McFarland, Ella Robinson, Olivia Reichardt and Avery McEachern.
Reichardt finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.05. She was also third in the 100 free, clocking in at 1:01.49.
McFarland and Reichardt placed 2-3 in the 50 yard butterfly, with McFarland coming in second with a time of 30.02. Reichardt swam the race in 30.53 seconds. McFarland was also third in the 50 backstroke (31.50).
McEachern placed second in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 6:25.11. Robinson took second in the 200 IM, swimming in 2:30.60. Kan Jarvis was third in the 100 butterfly with a mark of 1:11.70.
Ben Graff finished third for the Gopher men in the 100 backstroke, coming in in 1:01.73.
Goucher returns home next Saturday, November 4, hosting Wilkes University in a 1 pm meet at the von Borries Aquatic Center.
