Gophers Swim Against Drew on Senior Day
TOWSON, Md. – The Goucher College men and women swimming teams both fell to Drew University at the Von Borries Aquatics Center in the final home meet of the season. The women were defeated 191-51, while the men lost 219-26.
Prior to Saturday's meet, the Gophers honored men's senior Jack Buckley and women's seniors Darcy McFarland and Emily Roat
Emily Strickland earned a pair of third place finishes for the women in the 200 yard freestyle (2:35.82) and the 500 yard freestyle (7:03.84). Ella Robinson finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:15.01) and second in the 200 yard IM (2:26.87), falling just 0.42 seconds behind pace for first. McFarland finished second in the 100 yard backstroke (1:08.50) in her final home meet for the Gophers.
Ben Graff finished third in the 100 yard freestyle (54.22), falling off pace for first by 4 seconds. Quincy Barnes finished fourth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:29.73. James Piland also finished fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing two seconds behind third place (1:12.66).
Goucher returns to action Saturday, January 27 at 1pm at Gallaudet University to face the Bison in the Gophers' last meet before Landmark Conference Championships.
