Robinson Reaches B Final in Women's 200 IM at Landmarks
BALTIMORE - Goucher College women's swimming junior Ella Robinson qualified for the B final in the women's 200 individual medley on day two of the Landmark Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Loyola University Maryland's Mangione Aquatic Center on Friday. Through two days, both Gopher teams sit seventh in the championship standings.
Robinson qualified with a time of 2:20.46 in Friday's preliminaries. In the B final, she finished 15th overall with a time of 2:19.07. Her time is the fastest in the 200 IM by a Gopher women's swimmer since Nicole Craver's 2:13.82 in 2015.
The women's 400 medley relay placed sixth out of eight competing teams with a time of 4:29.28. The relay was made up of senior Darcy McFarland, Robinson, and sophomores Kan Jarvis and Alana Moore.
The men's 400 medley relay, consisting of sophomore Ben Graff, first years James Piland and Quincy Barnes and senior Jack Buckley, came in seventh with a time of 4:42.37.
Goucher's women have compiled 76 points to sit in seventh, while the men have a total of 48 points.
With winter weather expected Friday evening into Saturday morning, the schedule for day three of the Landmark Conference Championships has shifted. The preliminaries will begin at 12:15 pm, with the parking lot for the Mangione Aquatic Center opening at 11:30 am. Saturday evening's finals are set for 6:00 pm.
