Hinton-Ayodele Sixth in Triple Jump at Great Dane Classic
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - First-year Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) of the Goucher College women's indoor track and field team placed sixth in the triple jump at the Great Dane Invitational hosted by the University of Albany Friday at Ocean Breeze State Park.
Hinton-Ayodele posted a mark of 11.31 meters on their third jump of the afternoon. Hinton-Ayodele was the top non-Division I competitor in the event, as the top five and 10 of the top 11 competitors were from Division I schools. Kali Hatcher of Columbia was first with a hop, skip and jump of 12.23 meters.
Sophomore Tee Bakare (Silver Spring, Md./Archbishop Carroll) competed in a pair of sprints for the Gophers. In the 60-meter dash, Bakare was 17th in qualifying with a personal-best time of 8.16 seconds, seventh among non-DI competitors. In the 200-meter dash, Bakare recorded a time of 27.20 seconds.
The Goucher track and field teams return to action on Saturday, February 5, when they are scheduled to compete at Alvernia's Shootout at the Plex.
