Hinton-Ayodele Finishes 10th in Women's Triple Jump at NCAA Championship
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Goucher College first year Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) finished 10th in the women's triple jump at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday morning at JDL Fast Track. Hinton-Ayodele posted a mark of 11.66 meters.
Hinton-Ayodele improved with each of their three jumps. Competing in the first flight, Hinton-Ayodele recorded an 11.40 meter jump on their first attempt, before moving to second in the flight with an 11.61-meter jump on attempt No. 2. Hiton-Ayodele improved to 11.66 meters on the third attempt, but slid to third after Becca Stewart of the University of Chicago posted an 11.67-meter mark on her third jump.
Hinton-Ayodele missed qualifying for the finals by 0.01 meter.
Hinton-Ayodele is the first Goucher track and field student-athlete to qualify for NCAA indoor nationals.
