Hinton-Ayodele Wins Gold in Triple Jump, Gophers Record Two Thirds at Landmark Outdoor Championships
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Goucher College women's track and field first year Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) took first place in the women's triple jump on Sunday at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Juniata College. The Gophers also had a pair of third place finishes, with Tahira Bakare (Silver Spring, Md./Archbishop Carroll) taking third in the 100-meter dash, while the women's 4x100 relay also took bronze.
Goucher's women finished sixth with 50 points, while the men placed seventh with 15 points.
Hinton-Ayodele, who was the indoor triple jump champion in the winter, recorded a personal-best 12.01-meter jump on their final jump of the day to take first. That mark is currently good for No. 10 in NCAA Division III. Hinton-Ayodele bested Susquehanna's Remi Acord by 1.22 meters.

Bakare ran a personal-best 12.66 second time in the 100-meter final to take third behind the Moravian duo of Helen Davis (12.54) and Crystal Robinson (12.59). Bakare was also 5th in the 200-meter final with a time of 26.74 seconds. Neli La Court Ruiz (York, Pa./Northeastern) placed eighth in the 100-meter final with a 13.35-second effort.
The women's 4x100 relay team consisting of Bakare, Ruiz, Hinton-Ayodele and Jaelan Gabriel (Houston, Texas/Dulles) ran a season-best 49.85 to finish third.
Emma Kistner (Woodlawn, Md./Mount de Sales) placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal-best 1:10.16. Dorian Cheney (Bryans Road, Md./North Point) was fourth in the high jump, jumping a personal-best 1.58 meters. Kya Taylor (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) took home seventh in the shot put with a throw of 10.72 meters, matching her outdoor season best.
Mustafa Honeyblue (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) placed fourth in the men's 200-meter final with a time of 23.33 seconds. He also finished sixth in the 400 with a 51.50 second effort.
Joel Gladney (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) had a toss of 12.86 meters in the men's shot put to take fourth overall.
Goucher is slated to return to action at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday, May 16.
