Carter Hinton-Ayodele Set to Compete at NCAA Outdoor Nationals Next Weekend
INDIANAPOLIS - It was made official on Friday that Goucher College first year Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) will compete at next weekend's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a qualifier in the women's triple jump. Hinton-Ayodele will compete next Saturday, May 28 at 1:45 pm. This year's championships are being held at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Hinton-Ayodele qualified with the No. 12 triple jump mark in the country, a program and Landmark Conference Championship-record 12.01 meter jump at the conference championship on May 8. They were the Landmark outdoor triple jump champion after also winning both the triple jump and the long jump during the conference's indoor championship. The top 22 women's athletes qualify for nationals.
Earlier this season, Hinton-Ayodele became the first Goucher athlete to qualify for women's track and field nationals when they finished 10th in the triple jump at indoor nationals in March, narrowly missing the final.
