Gophers Compete at River Hawk Showdown
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Susquehanna River Hawk Showdown on Friday evening.
The women's 4x200 relay team placed 3rd with a time of 2:00.54. The relay consisted of Jaelan Gabriel (Houston, Texas/Dulles), Emma Kistner (Woodlawn, Md./Mount de Sales), Summer James (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and Skye Washington (Washington, D.C./Lab School of Washington).
Gabriel reached the finals of the 60-meter dash. After finishing eighth in the preliminaries with a time of 8.36 seconds, she ran a personal-best 8.30 in the final to place seventh. Gabriel also finished sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.41 meters, her top mark for the season.
Sarah Roth (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) placed ninth out of 34 entries in the weight throw with a toss of 12.89 meters.
Deonte Lewis (Fort Washington, Md./Crosslands) was 12th out of 30 in the men's 60-meter preliminaries with a time of 7.33 seconds. Mustafa Honeyblue (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) ran a 54.15 in the men's 400 to finish 10th.
Goucher returns to Susquehanna next Saturday for the Susquehanna Tune Up, its final meet before the Landmark Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, February 25, also hosted by the River Hawks.
