Gophers Open Outdoor Campaign at Emory
ATLANTA - The Goucher College women's track and field team opened the outdoor portion of its schedule on day one of the two-day Emory Spring Break Classic on Friday.
Sophomore Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 5.00 meters. Dorian Cheney (Bryans Road, Md./North Point) took 10th out of 19 with a jump of 4.77 meters.
First year Sarah Roth (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) placed eighth out of 35 entries in the hammer throw with a throw of 37.14 meters. It marks the longest hammer throw by a Gopher women's thrower since the 2019 season.
Tahira Bakare (Silver Spring, Md./Archbishop Carroll) took 14th out of 38 in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 27.74 seconds.
Goucher wraps up at the Emory Spring Break Classic on Saturday.
