Jumps, Throws Show Strong at York Twilight Meet
YORK, Pa. - Highlighted by several strong performances in jumps and throws, the Goucher College track and field teams competed at the York (Pa.) Twilight Meet at Graham Field Wednesday night.
In the women's triple jump, Carter Hinton-Ayodele (Bowie, Md./Bowie) had a season-best 11.39 meter jump to place second overall. That mark is currently No. 11 in Division III.
Dorian Cheney (Bryans Road, Md./North Point) placed third in the long jump with a season-best 5.12 meter effort. Cheney's mark is tied for third-best in the Landmark Conference this season. Cheney also ran a 28.46 in the 200-meter dash to place 16th out of 44, another personal-best.
Sarah Roth (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) placed eighth in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 38.80 meters. It marks Roth's personal-best and the fourth-longest throw in the conference to date.
Kya Taylor (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) took 13th out of 31 in the shot put with a 9.63 meter toss. Roth was 17th, checking in at 9.37 meters.
For the men, Joshua Stevenson (Hyattsville, Md./Parkdale) placed 10th out of 39 in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.60 seconds.
Goucher is back in action April 22 at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.
