Thornton-Fillyaw Garners Third Landmark Weekly Award of 2023-24
TOWSON, Md. - For the third time this season and fifth time in her career, Goucher College women's track and field sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw has been named the Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced Tuesday afternoon. Thornton-Fillyaw has been honored during the indoor season four times in her career, with one of her awards coming during last spring's outdoor campaign.
On Saturday, Thornton-Fillyaw bested a field of primarily Division I runners and lowered her own school record in the women's 800, posting a time of 2:13.35. Her time currently ranks as No. 4 in Division III and is the second-fastest recorded time in Landmark Conference history.
Goucher is in action Saturday, traveling to Ursinus to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational.
