Gophers Take Three Firsts at Stevenson Invitational
OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Goucher College men's and women's track and field teams took three place finishes at the Stevenson University Invitational at the Owings Mills East track and field facility on Friday. The meet was the inaugural meet at the track.
Women's first year Ray Asiedu finished first in the women's 100 with a time of 12.75 seconds. Asiedu also took second in the 200, clocking in at 27.24 seconds.
Men's first year KeMarco Monger placed first in the men's 400 with a time of 50.73 seconds. Monger also ran a 23.33 in the 200 to take fourth.
Sophomore Mark Martin finished first in the men's triple jump with a outdoor season-best mark of 13.17 meters.
Emmanuel Olarewju placed second in the men's 110 hurdles with a 16.34-second effort. He was also third in the 400, posting a time of 51.84 seconds. Syncere Lewis slotted third in the men's 400 hurdles, finishing in 1:02.15.
Aaliyah Briddell took third in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.89 seconds. Imaya Edmonds came in fifth in the women's 400, running her lap in 1:03.76.
Goucher is back in action Saturday at Howard Community College at the Mid-Atlantic Juco Invitational.
