Wolard, Johnson Lead Women's Basketball in Loss at Juanita in Landmark Play
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - For the 11th time on the 2017-18 season, junior forward Nicole Wolard (Tampa, Fla.) posted a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds), while fellow junior Quichey Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for the Goucher College women's basketball team at Juniata on Wednesday night.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - For the 11th time on the 2017-18 season, junior forward Nicole Wolard (Tampa, Fla.) posted a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds), while fellow junior Quichey Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for the Goucher College women's basketball team at Juniata on Wednesday night.
However, the host Eagles (now 20-4 overall and 9-4 in the Landmark) collected a 67-27 win in Landmark Conference play over the Gophers (now 0-23 and 0-12 in the Landmark).
Overall on the night for Goucher, Wolard once again led the way with her performance. She has now scored in double-figures in nine straight games for the Gophers, hitting double-digits in the point column in 19 of the 23 games they have played on the 2017-18 season.
Wolard also led Goucher in a scoring for the ninth straight contest in the defeat, marking the 17th time on the year she has led the Gophers in the scoring column, as well.
Johnson, meanwhile, went into double-figures in the total rebounding category for the fourth time on the year with her 12-rebound performance. It was also the third time on the year she led the Gophers in rebounding, as well.
Juanita was led in the win by Morgan Instone, who finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Goucher College women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, as the Gophers host Scranton in their 2017-18 season finale at the Decker SRC Arena. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
