Cavoli, Nwuli Named to CSC Academic All-District Team
CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT RELEASE
TOWSON, Md. - Juniors Julia Cavoli (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Sydney Nwuli (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) of the Goucher College women's basketball team have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team for women's basketball for 2022-23.
The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic AllAmerica® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
In order to be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with at least one full academic year at their current institution. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or important reserve appearing in at least 50% of a team's contests.
Cavoli, a Business major with a minor in Psychology, appeared in 23 games and was in the starting lineup 16 times for the Gophers this season. She averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Cavoli, who matched her career high with 13 points against Drew earlier this season, has played in 45 games and made 38 starts for Goucher over her first two seasons.
Nwuli, a Political Science major with a minor in Legal Studies and Communications, started 19 games and appeared in 21 for the Gophers this season. She averaged 2.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Nwuli posted a double-double (11 points, 13 rebounds) against Stevenson earlier this season.
Both Cavoli and Nwuli are past members of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
