WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University trailed just once early as it eased past Goucher College for a 92-33 non-conference women's basketball victory Saturday afternoon at the Wilkins Athletics and Event Center.
Goucher (0-11) led 2-0 a minute into the game following a basket by Briyah Haggins before the Hornets (9-2) scored the next 14 points. Shenandoah led 20-7 through one quarter and 50-14 at halftime.
First year Savannah Holmes led the Gophers with 12 points off the bench while also grabbing six rebounds. Haggins finished with seven points, while Brianna Johnson added six. The Gophers were 17-69 from the floor and 4-26 from three.
Shenandoah shot 46.9% for the contest and was 3-12 behind the arc. The Hornets had 16 different players score on the afternoon.
Goucher returns to Landmark Conference play Wednesday when it hosts Wilkes University in a 4 pm game at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
