Records Fall for Women's Golf At Cardinal Spring Classic
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Goucher College women's golf team set a total of three records Saturday and Sunday as it competed at the Cardinal Spring Classic hosted by Catholic University at Black Rock Golf Course. The Gophers finished fifth out of six competing schools, recording a 369 on Saturday and a 367 on Sunday for a two-day total of 736.
First year Iseline Schenk (Bergen, Netherlands / Murmellius Gymnasuim) finished eighth overall with a two-day score of 165, shooting an 84 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday. Schenck, who posted her sixth top-10 finish of the season, set a single-round record with her 81 on Sunday. Her two-day score of 165 is also a program record.
Goucher's two-day score of 736 is the best 36-hole score in program history. Its 367 is the second-lowest single-round team score, while Saturday's 369 is tied for the third-lowest single-day team score.
First year Keeli Satterfield (Portland, Oregon / Valley Catholic) finished 19th overall with a two-day total of 178, including an 86 on Sunday. Classmate Katherine West (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) shot an 89 on Saturday and notched a two-day total of 188.
Grace Klain (Yerrington, Nev. / Nevada Connections Academy) had a career-low round of 101 on Sunday, while Maddie Agrusti (Elkridge, Md. / Howard) rounded out the Gopher finishers.
Goucher returns to action April 7-8 when it competes at the Garden State Collegiate Classic at Flanders Valley Golf Club in Flanders, New Jersey.
