12 Different Players Score in Shutout of Trinity Washington

TOWSON, Md. - Host Goucher College got goals from 12 different players as the Gophers eased past Trinity Washington University for a 19-0 non-conference women's lacrosse victory Wednesday evening at Beldon Field.
- Goucher (1-5) got on the board 19 seconds into the game on a goal by Amaya Locke (Bowie, Md./Bowie) with Molly Smith (Damascus, Md./Damascus) assisting.
- 30 seconds later, Amelia Lazzini (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) made it 2-0 with Izzy Montenegro (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) assisting on the tally.
- The Gophers scored 11 times in the first with six different players scoring as Goucher outshot Trinity Washington (0-1) 15-0.
- Locke, Lazzini, Bella McKinney (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville), Katherine Luetgens (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo) and Katie Kebrich (Towson, Md./Towson) all had two goals apiece in the opening frame.
- Locke and Montenegro each had their first collegiate goals.
- McKinney extended Goucher's lead to 12-0 1:10 into the second quarter. Lelia Webb (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) assisted on the goal.
- Webb notched her first career goal just over three minutes later.
- Smith scored with 5:02 to play in the first half, while Luetgens closed out the first half scoring with her third goal of the half 2:51 before intermission.
- Jordyn Altieri (Vista, Calif./Vista) recorded her first career goal 4:35 into the second hakf.
- With 8:00 left in the quarter, Carla Caballero (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) made it 17-0 and notched her first career tally.
- Maura Poulton (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) recorded her first collegiate goal with 4:23 left in the third.
- DJ Howell (Jamaica, N.Y./Frederick Douglass Academy) notched the first goal of her college career with 8:05 remaining in the game.
- Goucher outshot Trinity 33-1 and won 22 of the game's 23 draw controls.
- McKinney recorded three goals and an assist while Luetgens also finished with three goals.
- Kebrich, Locke and Lazzini each had two tallies.
- Smith notched three assists, while Montenegro had a pair of helpers.
- Luetgens notched eight draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while Altieri also finished with three ground balls.
- Sydney Lewis (Baltimore, Md./Carver) started the first half in goal and was not forced to make a save. Belle Christ (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made one save over the final 30 minutes.
- Goucher's shutout was the fourth in program history and the first since April 17, 2005, a 19-0 win against Marymount (Va.).
- The winning margin was Goucher's largest since a 24-2 triumph over Cedar Crest on February 23, 2019.
- The win was the first at Goucher for first-year head coach Katie Russo.
- Goucher is back in action at home on Saturday, hosting Bridgewater (Va.) College in a 1 pm contest at Beldon Field.
