ST. MARY'S CITY, MD — Goucher stayed within a goal
of St. Mary's until the closing moments of the first half today
only to suffer a 4-0 loss to the Seahawks.
Carolyn Amirpashaie staked the Seahawks (9-5-1, 4-2 Capital
Athletic Conference) to an early 1-0 advantage by scoring a goal
just 1:33 into the contest, but the score didn't change again until
Amirpashaie picked up an assist on a goal by Lauren Carrier with
2:59 remaining in the first half.
The Amirpashaie-to-Carrier connection clicked again at 49:35,
boosting the Seahawks' lead to 3-0. Sarah Grady tallied the final
goal of the contest at 63:53.
The Seahawks finished with a 38-6 edge in shots.
Stephanie Ricketts (Baltimore, MD/Parkville) and
Bri Girard (Seymour, CT/Seymour) split time in
goal for Goucher (2-10-1, 0-5 Capital Athletic Conference) and made
a combined 13 saves.
