TOWSON, MD — Eight different players scored goals
today. Unfortunately, none of them were from Goucher.
Salisbury took full advantage of a 37-5 edge in shots to record an
11-0 victory over head coach Tati Korba's Gophers (2-11-1, 0-6
Capital Athletic Conference) today in front of a Beldon Field crowd
of 140.
Kate Weaver and Sara Schmidt both had a hand in four of Salisbury's
seven goals in the first half. Weaver scored three goals in
succession for the Sea Gulls (7-5-1, 5-2 Capital Athletic
Conference) in a span of less than 15 minutes, plus she picked up
an assist on a goal by Schmidt at 44:38. Schmidt tallied two goals
and was awarded a pair of assists.
In the second starting assignment of her young career, freshman
goalkeeper Bri Girard (Seymour, CT/Seymour) of the
Gophers made 15 saves.
