Landmark Releases 2008 Fall Academic Honor Roll

MADISON, N.J. – The Landmark Conference today recognized 355 student-athletes, including 39 from Goucher, for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2008 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Gophers Bring Down Curtain on 2008 Campaign

TOWSON, Md. – Sarah Lodge (Pilesgrove, N.J./Woodstown) and Nicole Sanfilippo (Roslyn Heights, N.Y./The Wheatley School) hooked up on Goucher's final goal of the season, the only one the Gophers scored in their 4-1 loss to Juniata at Beldon Field that brought down the curtain on their 2008 campaign today.

Staten, Cohen Get In Scoring Act with Pumilia

TOWSON, Md. – Sisley Pumilia (Spofford, N.H./Keene) tallied her 23rd goal of the season and picked up assists on goals by Kanika Staten (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) and Debbie Cohen (Austin, Texas/Lasa) as Goucher unleashed a total of 16 shots and defeated Notre Dame (Md.), 3-1, today.

Gophers Let Two Leads Slip Away in 3-2 Loss

IMMACULATA, Pa. – A goal by McKenna Wilkinson (Keene, N.H./Keene) provided Goucher with a 1-0 lead over Immaculata in the first half and another by Sarah Lodge (Pilesgrove, N.J./Woodstown) put head coach Tati Korba's squad ahead 2-1 in the second period. However, the Mighty Macs caught up both times and eventually passed the Gophers when Zena Tracey tallied an unassisted goal at 71:33 that would stand up as the game-winner in a 3-2 non-conference victory today.

TOWSON, Md. – Already down 2-0, the chances of Goucher catching Moravian today at Beldon Field dimmed a bit when the Greyhounds scored just :14 into the second half to go up by three goals.

Gophers Surrender Early PK in 2-0 Setback

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Goucher fell behind when Susquehanna was awarded a penalty kick and successfully converted it less than five minutes into today's Landmark Conference game against Susquehanna. The rest of the way the Gophers surrendered only one controversial goal – in the 86th minute – but that was still enough for the Crusaders to record a 2-0 victory.

FREDERICK, Md. – Goucher overcame a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with Hood today in a game that was delayed for more than an hour because of lightning and then halted after just one overtime period due to darkness.

Pride Jumps on Gophers Early, Pours It on Late

CHESTER, Pa. – Sisley Pumilia (Chesterfield, N.H./Keene) tallied her team-leading 12th goal of the season today, but not before Goucher had fallen into a 4-0 hole against Widener. The Pride tacked on three more goals following the one Pumilia scored at 57:13 to come away with a 7-1 non-conference victory over the Gophers.

Pumilia Earns Recognition from Landmark Again

MADISON, N.J. – After scoring all three of Goucher's goals in a pair of non-conference victories last week, sophomore midfielder/forward Sisley Pumilia (Chesterfield, N.H./Keene) today was named Offensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for the seven-day period ending September 21.
