TOWSON, Md. – Already down 2-0, the chances of Goucher catching Moravian today at Beldon Field dimmed a bit when the Greyhounds scored just :14 into the second half to go up by three goals.
But Moravian wasn't done scoring. The Greyhounds erupted for a total of five goals in the final period to register a 7-0 Landmark Conference victory.
Jenelle Mirro opened the scoring with a double-assisted goal at 30:18. The assists went to Tracy Fitzpatrick and Shannon McEvoy.
Mirro also tallied the goal at 45:14 that put the Greyhounds (8-5-1, 1-1 Landmark) ahead 3-0 and then completed her "hat trick" by scoring again at 66:02.
The Gophers (5-5-1, 0-2 Landmark) were held to five shots the entire contest and were shut out for only the third time all season. In addition, Sisley Pumilia (Spofford, N.H./Keene), who was coming off a five-goal performance in a 5-0 triumph over Trinity (D.C.), was denied a goal for just the third time during her sophomore campaign.
