MADISON, N.J. – For a third time in 2008, Goucher's Sisley Pumilia (Spofford, N.H./Keene) has been chosen Offensive Player of the Week by the Landmark Conference for the sport of women's soccer.
Today's announcement that Pumilia was the recipient of the weekly honor for October 13-19 comes just one day after the sophomore midfielder/forward set a new school record for goals in a season. With the second of the two goals she scored in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Lincoln, Pumilia broke Sarah Weaver's single-season record of 20 goals established in 1997.
Pumilia also had an assist in both of Goucher's games last week and has tied the school record for points in a season, which Weaver also set in 1997. With her 21 goals and six assists through 13 games, Pumilia's season total stands at 48 points.
