TOWSON, Md. — Goucher, in need of a win to interject itself into the Landmark Conference playoff picture, grabbed a 1-0 lead over Moravian this afternoon just over two minutes into the contest.
Unfortunately for the Gophers, the shot by sophomore forward Shay Kettner (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) that produced the goal turned out to be their only shot of the entire game. The Greyhounds (3-10-2, 1-2 Landmark) responded with a 22-shot attack that generated a pair of goals as they registered a 2-1 victory.
Sophomore forward/midfielder Sam Schlosburg (North Potomac, Md./Thomas S. Wootton) picked up an assist on Kettner's team-leading seventh goal of the season at 2:01.
The Gophers (2-8-2, 0-4 Landmark) held on to their 1-0 advantage until Eileen Black scored a goal for Moravian at 14:51 by heading in a corner kick by Tara Alberse.
The Greyhounds took the lead on an unassisted goal by Mallory Goggins at 40:56.
Senior Kellen Matthews (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional) went the distance in goal for Goucher, making 10 saves.
