KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Another postseason honor was bestowed on Goucher's Sisley Pumilia (Spofford, N.H./Keene) when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America placed the senior midfielder on its 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Division III Women All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team.
The team was released in its entirety today and is made up of 38 student-athletes who were chosen through balloting by members of the NSCAA, the largest soccer coaches' organization in the world. The selections were made by position and 12 players were placed on the first team, another 12 on the second team and the remaining 14, including Pumilia, on the third team.
Pumilia becomes only the second female soccer player from Goucher to earn all-region honors. In 2001, Cara Peckens was a third-team selection at goalkeeper on the Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team.
Pumilia, who completed her four seasons as one of the all-time leading scorers in the history of Goucher's women's soccer program, had previously been named a first-team midfielder on the 2010 All-Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Team. Including the seven goals and three assists she contributed while starting all 16 games this season, she finished her career ranked second all-time in goals (39) and points (93) and fourth in assists (15).
