TOWSON, Md. — Sarah Eaby (New Holland, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) and Shay Kettner (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) hooked up on the only goal of the game as Goucher pinned a 1-0 setback on Penn St. Harrisburg this afternoon on Beldon Field.
The game remained scoreless until Kettner started to drive the endline with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. The junior forward then slotted a ball across the 6 to Ebay, who finished at 87:01 by knocking the ball in from in front of the far post.
It was the junior midfielder's second goal of the season.
The victorious Gophers (3-2) finished with a 12-4 advantage in shots. Both starting goalkeepers went the distance in goal for their teams: Janelle Hammond made seven saves for the Lady Lions (2-1) before surrendering the game-winning goal; junior Regan Foy (Crofton, Md./The Key School) lowered her goals-against average to 0.81 while earning her second shutout of the season for Goucher.
"I was pleased with how we took control of the game in the second half," Goucher head coach Tati Korba commented following the contest. "We started to play the way we are comfortable playing and were able to create some good scoring opportunities."
