WESTMINSTER, Md. — Goucher's offense was unable to get anything going this afternoon, as the Gophers were not credited with any shots in a 3-0 defeat at McDaniel.
The Green Terror (7-2-1), who have now outscored opponents 17-0 in five home matches this year, scored a pair of goals in the first half and added an insurance strike midway through the second.
All three goals allowed by the Gophers (3-6-1) were charged to Juliana Harkavy (Memphis, Tenn./Ridgeway), who registered four saves before being replaced by Lexi Rudolph (Kensington, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) in the 57th minute. Rudolph added an additional four saves, while Lexi Solazzo (Tolland, Conn./Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts) made a team save 5:56 into the opening half.
McDaniel's two opening goals came in the 11th and 40th minute, respectively. Maggie Quinn finished with a pair of goals, and both of those strikes were assisted by Nicole Hill. Goucher was forced to compete with 10 players after a 41st minute red card, increasing the difficulty of any potential comeback.
The final shot total was listed as 22-0 in favor of the Green Terror.
Goucher returns to Landmark play this Saturday with a 1 p.m. road contest at conference newcomer Elizabethtown.
