Gophers Trail for First Time, Suffer 2-0 Setback

It was also turn out to be Goucher's first loss of the season as Mary Washington tacked on a season goal midway through the first half and departed Beldon Field with a 2-0 victory over the Gophers.
Following Meyers' goal, which was assisted by Lizzie Brooks, the two teams played on nearly even terms, with the Eagles (5-3) owning an 11-7 advantage in shots.
The Gophers (4-1-2) remained with a goal of their opponents until Marisa Madaras scored on a header from Shannon Blackstone's corner kick at 24:22.
Juliana Harkavy (Memphis, Tenn./Ridgeway) played all 90 minutes in goal for Goucher and registered six saves.
Haley Randall started in goal for Mary Washington and made three saves while playing into the 82nd minute. She stopped shots by Camryn Mackey (Washington D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Anja Opsahl (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) in the first half and one by Alex Collier (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) in the second period.
Kelcie Macomber replaced Randall in goal for the final 8:54 and was credited with a save for her play on a shot by Mackey in the final minute.
