Goucher Women's Soccer Named To The United Soccer Coaches College Academic Award Recipient For Seventh-Straight Year
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Goucher women's soccer team has been named a United Soccer Coaches 2019-20 College Team Academic Award Recipient. The Gophers boasted a 3.39 grade point average for the academic year.
"I'm very excited to be named to list for a seventh-straight year!," said head coach Stephanie Ricketts. "It's really a testimate to our team and how seriously they take being a student-athlete. They embody the mission of DIII Athletics and work just as hard off of the field as they do on it and this honor shows that. Our professors, advisors, and other support staff on campus are also a huge part of this academic success and we're thankful for all they do for our student-athletes as well."
The team had 10 student-athletes named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2019. In addition, the team had 15 student-athletes achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average for the spring 2020 semester including eight that boasted at least a 3.8 grade point average.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.
Goucher has earned the recognition from the United Soccer Coaches for each of the last seven seasons (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).
