Women’s and Men’s Soccer Jolie Price and Zach LaFaver Ahluwalia Named Scholar-Athletes Of The Week
Every week in the fall semester, Goucher Athletics names two Scholar-Athletes of the Week for their achievements in the classroom. This week's features are women's soccer senior Jolie Price (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) and men's soccer junior Zach LaFaver (Hanover, Pa. / South Western)
Price, a psychology major, landed a spot on the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2018-19 and 2019-20 and currently holds a 3.90. She made her Goucher debut on August 31, 2017, against Gwynedd Mercy. The defender went on that year to record seven shots in her 18 game starts. As a sophomore, Price posted two shots and started and played in 16 games. Last fall, she nabbed her first collegiate point against Notre Dame on September 24, 2019, on an OT game-winning assist. The senior started all 18 games last season and registered four shots.
LaFaver is a biochemistry and molecular biology major and holds a 3.70 GPA. In his freshman year, he made his collegiate debut against Mt. Aloysius on August 31, 2018, and his first collegiate goal against Gwynedd Mercy on September 25. LaFaver went on to record two goals and one assist for five points on 13 shots for the season. In the 2019 season, the midfielder appeared in 18 games, including 14 starts. He scored two goals and had one assist for five points on 16 shots. The goals came against Drew on September 28 and against Wilson on October 8.
