SELINSGROVE, Pa. - A goal in the 56th minute proved to be the difference as host Susquehanna University edged Goucher College 1-0 in Landmark Conference women's soccer Saturday afternoon. The game marked the season finale for the Gophers.
- Gillian Maack had the first shot of the game for Susquehanna (11-4, 6-1 Landmark) that was saved by Goucher (7-9, 3-4) keeper Jenna Abaza (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West)
- Abaza made two saves on Emily Wertz in the 34th and 44th minutes.
- The River Hawks outshot the Gophers 7-0 in the opening 45 minutes and had all six of the period's corner kicks.
- Abaza made two more saves in the opening seven minutes of the second half.
- At the 55:35 mark, Samantha Chillis scored for the hosts to make it 1-0.
- Another Maack shot was saved by Abaza just past the 60-minute mark.
- In the final minute Goucher made a late push and a shot by Taylor Urie (Simi Valley, Calif. / Simi Valley) went wide.
- Susquehanna outshot Goucher 16-1 and took all 10 of the game's corner kicks.
- Abaza made seven saves for the Gophers and finishes her first collegiate season with 81 saves.
