ASTON, Pa. - A goal by junior Taty Jimenez (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) in the 62nd minute proved to be the difference as the Goucher College women's soccer team edged Neumann University Tuesday afternoon at the Neumann Turf Stadium.
- Goucher (6-2) outshot Neumann (2-6-2) 7-0 in the opening 45 minutes.
- Carly Stevens (Hampstead, Md./Hereford) had the first two shots of the game for the Gophers in the 11th and 17th minutes.
- The guests put their first shot on frame in the 28th minute as Taylor Urie (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley) had a bid stopped by Knight keeper Leona Macrina.
- Neumann had a shot on goal in the first minute of the second half that was saved by Marissa Spacht (Marlton, Pa./Garden Spot).
- Just past the 61-minute mark, Daniella Blitz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) played a ball to Jimenez, who curled around a Neumann defender and put it in from 10 yards out for her first goal of the season.
- Jordan Wood (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) put a shot on goal in the 73rd minute that was saved by Macrina.
- Spacht made a save in the 78th minute.
- Goucher outshot Neumann 12-7 and took three corner kicks to the Knights' two.
- Both goalies made a pair of saves, with Spacht registering her fifth shutout of the season.
- Stevens led the Gophers with five shots.
