Marissa Spacht Claims Landmark Weekly Accolades
TOWSON, Md. - Junior goalkeeper Marissa Spacht (Marlton, Pa./Garden Spot) of the Goucher College women's soccer team was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Spacht posted a pair of shutouts in goal for the Gophers last week as they played to a pair of ties. Spacht made five saves in goal against Catholic on Wednesday night, then recorded one stop in a deadlock at Juniata on Saturday afternoon. She now has eight shutouts on the season, tying the single-season program record set by Juliana Harkavy in 2013.
Starting all 13 games this season, Spacht has recorded a 0.92 goals-against average and .833 save percentage while making 60 saves. She is tied for the conference lead in shutouts and ranks fourth in goals-against average.
Goucher, 7-4-2 overall, returns to action Tuesday night for a 7 pm non-conference contest at Penn State Harrisburg.
