Spacht Sets Shutout Record at Etown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Goucher College junior goalkeeper Marissa Spacht (Marlton, Pa./Garden Spot) made four saves en route to her program-record ninth shutout of the season as the Gophers battled Elizabethtown College to a 0-0 tie at Herr Field on Saturday afternoon.
- Spacht made her first save of the game for Goucher (7-5-3, 0-3-3 Landmark) in the game's ninth minute.
- Etown's (5-8-2, 1-3-2) Ava Whisten put a shot on goal at the 18-minute mark that was turned aside by Spacht.
- Taylor Urie (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley) rang a shot off the crossbar in the 22nd minute
- Carly Stevens (Hampstead, Md./Hereford) sent a shot wide with four minutes left in the first half.
- The Blue Jays sent a shot wide in the final minute of the half.
- Jenna Hoffmann sent a low shot towards the Goucher goal five minutes into the second half that Spacht stopped.
- Urie had another shot sail wide with just under 30 minutes to go.
- The Gophers sent another shot wide, this one by Cassidy Scott (Quakertown, Pa./William Penn Charter School) in the 73rd minute.
- Belle St. Jean (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) had a shot stopped by Blue Jay keeper Trinity Soto with 14 minutes left.
- Soto made another stop on a bid by Taty Jimenez (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) with five minutes left.
- Goucher generated a corner kick with two minutes remaining, with Finley Lindsey (Phoenix, Ariz./Hamilton) sending a shot wide.
- Spacht made her final stop with 15 seconds left on the clock.
- Spacht's ninth clean sheet of the season breaks the record of eight set by Juliana Harkavy in 2013.
- Elizabethtown held a 14-7 shot advantage and took two of the game's three corner kicks.
