Gophers Rally Past Greyhounds in Regular Season Finale

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's soccer team scored twice in a span of 3:16 midway through the second half to rally from an early 1-0 deficit and would go on to post a 2-1 win over Moravian University in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon at Beldon Field.
- Moravian (6-6-5, 1-4-2 Landmark) got a goal from Lexi Rushatz 2:53 into the game to take a 1-0 lead.
- Goucher's (8-6-3, 1-3-3) first shot of the game came on a Carly Stevens (Hampstead, Md./Hereford) bid that went wide in the 11th minute.
- Gopher keeper Marissa Spacht (Marlton, Pa./Garden Spot) made her first save of the game just past the 13-minute mark.
- Stevens put a shot on the Greyhound goal in the 27th minute but Moravian keeper Payce Korpics made the save.
- Ten minutes later a header by Stevens off a corner was stopped by Korpics.
- Jordan Wood (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) and Taylor Urie (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley) tested Korpics with shots on goal in the final five minutes but Korpics made the save on both.
- Arianna Carman (Woolwich, N.J./Kingsway) had a shot turned aside by Moravian relief keeper Paige Harrison 4:30 into the second half.
- After Belle St. Jean (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) lifted a shot high in the 58th minute, Carman had another shot saved by Harrison moments later.
- Just past the 66-minute mark, Goucher tied the game as Finley Lindsey (Phoenix, Ariz./Hamilton) got a head on a right-to-left corner kick by Urie for her first goal of the season.
- Just over three minutes later Wood lifted a shot from the top right corner of the 18 that got past Harrison inside the far left post for Wood's third goal of the season.
- Spacht made a save on a Greyhound shot with just over 10 minutes to go.
- Carman and Taty Jimenez (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) put back-to-back shots on Harrison with two minutes left, but Harrison made both saves.
- Goucher's eight victories are its most since the 2015 season.
- Goucher outshot Moravian 17-9 and took seven of the game's eight corner kicks.
- Korpics and Harrison made five saves apiece in 45 minutes of action, while Spacht recorded three stops.
- Jimenez and Carman led the Gophers with four shots apiece.

- Goucher now awaits word of a possible bid to the ECAC Women's Soccer Championship. That field and pairings will be announced on Monday, November 7 following the announcement of the NCAA field.
