Women's Soccer Earns ECAC Bid, Travels to FDU-Florham Saturday
DANBURY, Conn. - The Goucher College women's soccer team has earned a berth to the 2022 ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship, the first in program history. The Gophers are the No. 4 seed and will face top-seeded and tournament host FDU-Florham on Saturday, November 12 at 3 pm. The winner of that game will face the winner of Saturday's first semifinal between No. 2 seed DeSales and No. 3 seed Cabrini on Sunday, November 13 at FDU-Florham.
Goucher enters the championship with an 8-6-4 overall record, its most victories since the 2015 season. The Gophers have relied on defense this season, posting a 0.88 team goals-against average with nine shutouts. Goucher is coming off a 2-1 win over Moravian in its season finale on October 29.
FDU-Florham sits 15-5-1 overall and was the No. 5 seed in the recent MAC Freedom Championship, falling to DeSales in the opening round of the MAC Freedom Championship. The Devils' 15 wins match a program record.
