MADISON, N.J. - The Goucher College women's soccer team saw its season come to a close with a 3-0 setback to top-seeded FDU-Florham in the semifinals of the 2022 ECAC Division III Women's Soccer Championship Saturday afternoon at Robert T. Shields Field. The Gophers were making the program's first-ever ECAC appearance.
- Goucher (8-7-3) generated a corner kick less than a minute into the game.
- Taylor Urie (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley) put a shot on goal in the ninth minute but her bid was stopped by FDU (16-5-1) keeper Erica Blackburn.
- Gopher keeper Marissa Spacht (Marlton, Pa./Garden Spot) made her first save of the game 10 minutes in.
- FDU had a shot just past the 10-minute mark that was saved by a Goucher defender.
- Blackburn made a save on a shot by Lexie Alvarado (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) with just over 14 minutes left in the opening half.
- In the 34th minute the Devils got on the board courtesy of a Goucher own goal.
- Finley Lindsey (Phoenix, Ariz./Hamilton) had a shot saved by Blackburn in the final minute of the half.
- Mia Lopez made it 2-0 just over five minutes into the second half with her 17th goal of the season for FDU-Florham.
- Spacht made another save two minutes later.
- After Lopez had two shots blocked, she converted the third in the 54th minute to make it 3-0.
- Cassidy Scott (Quakertown, Pa. / William Penn Charter School) had a shot saved in the 69th minute.
- FDU-Florham held a 17-9 shot advantage and took seven of the game's 10 corner kicks.
- Spacht registered a pair of saves, while Blackburn made five stops en route to the shutout.
- Scott and Taty Jiminez (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) each had two shots for Goucher.
