TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's soccer first year Alaina Porter totaled two goals and two assists as the Gophers picked up their first win of the year, downing Immaculata University 4-1 on Senior Day Saturday at Beldon Field.
- Goucher (1-0-2) got on the board just 1:41 into the game on a goal by Jordan Wood.
- Porter played a short ball to Wood who one-timed it from 15 yards out.
- Immaculata (0-3-1) had its first shot on goal in the ninth minute that was saved by Goucher keeper Marissa Spacht.
- The Mighty Macs' Rachel McNamee scored at the 13:49 mark as she scored low on Spacht on a breakaway.
- Porter scored her first collegiate goal in the 30th minute, with Cassidy Scott assisting.
- Goucher outshot Immaculata 16-6 in the first half as it took a 2-1 lead into intermission.
- Senior Tatyana Jimenez made it 3-1 just over five minutes into the second half, with Porter assisting.
- Porter's second goal of the game came with in the 63rd minute as she knocked home a long pass from the right side by Taylor Urie.
- Each team made one save the rest of the way.
- Goucher held a commanding 29-9 shot advantage and took five of the game's six corner kicks.
- Spacht made four saves, while Mighty Mac counterpart Gina Marinelli stopped 10 shots.
- Jimenez led the Gophers with seven shots.
- Porter's two goals were the first multi-goal game by a Goucher player since Claudia Roller had two against Immaculata last season.
- Goucher has won three of the last four meetings with Immaculata.
- Prior to the game Goucher honored seniors Jimenez, Spacht, Urie, Lexie Alvarado, Emily Quinn, Hanna Rogers, Belle St. Jean and Carly Stevens.
