WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Goucher College women's soccer team got first half goals from Tatyana Jimenez and Carly Stevens, but host Lycoming scored twice in the second half to forge a 2-2 tie in Landmark Conference action at UPMC Field on Saturday afternoon.
- Lycoming (3-1-3, 0-0-1 Landmark) had the game's first shot a minute and a half in but it sailed high.
- The Gophers (2-1-4, 0-0-1) scored on their first shot of the game just past the 17-minute mark.
- Nora Neall played a ball into Jimenez from the right corner, which Jimenez one-timed past Warrior keeper Riley Block from eight yards out to her short left side.
- Goucher goalie Madison Gutierrez made her first save of the afternoon in the 24th minute.
- Moments later, Stevens made it 2-0 as Jordan Wood sent a ball in from the left side.
- The ball caromed off of Block and out to Stevens who collected the rebound and fired it home from 15 yards out.
- Gutierrez made another save in the 33rd minute.
- Lycoming cut the Goucher lead in half four minutes into the second frame as Taylor Snyder scored.
- Gutierrez made back-to-back saves in the 55th minute.
- With just over 25 minutes left, the Warriors were awarded a penalty kick, which Mikayla Long buried to tie the game 2-2.
- Stevens had a shot saved by Lyco relief keeper Abbey Gerasimoff in the 73rd minute.
- Gutierrez turned aside a Long big with 6:26 remaining.
- Stevens had one final shot on frame with just over three minutes to go, but was denied by Gerasimoff.
- Lycoming held an 11-4 shot advantage, with both teams taking three corner kicks.
- Gutierrez recorded five saves, while Gerasimoff had two after Block had zero in the opening 45 minutes.
- The Warriors were playing in their inaugural Landmark Conference contest as they joined the league ahead of 2023-24.
