Belle St. Jean Named Landmark Senior Scholar-Athlete
TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that recent Goucher College women's soccer graduate Belle St. Jean has been named the recipient of the conference's Senior Scholar-Athlete Award for women's soccer. St. Jean is the first Gopher women's soccer player to win the award and the 20th Goucher student-athlete to capture the honor in their respective sport.
Honorees for the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete Award must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion.
A Psychology major who graduated in December of 2023, St. Jean has enjoyed a standout career both on and off the pitch for the Gophers. A three-time Landmark Conference All-Conference team member who earned First Team honors in 2022, St. Jean is also a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection and was named to the All-ECAC Team this season, Goucher's first-ever All-ECAC selection in women's soccer. St. Jean was a three-year starter and two-year captain for the Gophers, starting 50 games in three seasons.
St. Jean is also a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoreee and has twice been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region team.
St. Jean is a member of the Goucher Psi Chi chapter, the international honor society for psychology. A participant in the Gopher Leadership Academy, St. Jean has worked with Goucher's Prison Education Program (GPEP) as a research assistant. A recipient of the Corene Elaine Amoss '93 Prize this year, St. Jean plans to attend graduate school following graduation for a Master's or PsyD programin clinical psychology with the eventual goal of becoming a therapist.
