Stephanie Ricketts-Preston '07 Steps Down As Women's Soccer Head Coach
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew Wu announced Tuesday that Stephanie Ricketts-Preston '07 has resigned her post as head women's soccer coach for family reasons.
"I've always loved my time at Goucher as a student and as a coach," said Ricketts-Preston. "The people that I've had the opportunity to coach and work with are amazing and I'm so sad to be stepping down. The decision was a difficult one, but it is what is best for my family right now. I look forward to cheering on the program as a proud alum!"
Named the seventh head coach in the women's soccer program's NCAA era in July of 2017, Ricketts-Preston spent six seasons as head coach. She guided the Gophers to the program's first postseason berth in 2022 as Goucher qualified for the ECAC Division III Championship.
During her tenure, Ricketts-Preston coached nine Landmark Conference All-Conference selections, including First Team choice Belle St. Jean in 2022. St. Jean also earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region accolades and was named the Landmark women's soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete in 2023.
A national search for Ricketts-Preston's successor will begin immediately.
