Bio

Glen began his career with Canvey Island, as part of a very successful youth team which made it to the 1st round proper of the F.A Youth Cup, eventually being knocked out by Wycombe Wanderers. Progressing through to the Reserve team at Park Lane Glen again had success with the 2nd string completing the triple two seasons in a row.

At the age of 15, Johnson was called up by his county team Essex, was promoted to the Canvey’s 1st team and was a squad member during the club’s historic march to the 3rd round of the F.A. Cup.  That same season, Glen become the youngest ever player to play for Canvey Island when he made his debut in a F.A. Trophy tie against Local rivals Purfleet. During his time at Canvey, Glen was under the tuition of former Everton and Wales Goalkeeper Neville Southall.

After 3 years with The Gulls, Glen moved on to pastures new, gaining experience at various Non League clubs such as Maldon Town, Aveley, Long Melford, Wingate and Finchley, eventually returning to Canvey Island after they took voluntary demotion from the Blue Square Premier after financial problems at the Club.

In 2007 Glen decided to call time on his playing to concentrate on his goalkeeper glove brand, PRO-GK, and a career in coaching.
