Coaches Pick Lin as Landmark's Top Rookie for 2011-12

MADISON, N.J. — Ariel Lin (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) earned her way on to the 2012 All-Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Team for both her record-breaking performance at No. 2 in Goucher's singles line-up and for her contributions to the top doubles pairing head coach Sally Baum was able to put together.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Because of a pair of 5-4 losses earlier this season, Goucher wasn't in control of its own destiny as far as making the upcoming Landmark Conference postseason tournament was concerned. The Gophers needed a win over Moravian and a little help today to nail down a spot in the playoffs.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — For the second day in a row, Goucher was down 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play and head coach Sally Baum's squad couldn't overcome that deficit with a 3-3 split of the singles matches. The Gophers bowed to Christopher Newport by the same count of 5-4 this afternoon that they did to Scranton yesterday.

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher gained a split of the six singles matches, but that still left head coach Sally Baum's Gophers one point short of overtaking Scranton in this afternoon's Landmark Conference match. The Royals, who prevailed in two of the three doubles match, came out on top, 5-4.
