TOWSON, Md. - Buoyed by a sweep of doubles, the Goucher College women's tennis team recorded a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory over Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
- Goucher (4-8, 2-0 Landmark) prevailed in three tight doubles matches over the Blue Jays (2-3, 0-3)
- Anais Dhillon (Cambridge, England/Hills Road Sixth Form College) and Gigi Bellisario (Elmer, N.J./Woodstown) posted a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 1.
- The Gophers posted 8-6 wins at both No. 2 and No. 3.
- Eliza Abady (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) and Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) won at No. 2, while Alex DiGiovanni (York, Pa./Dover) and Sara Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove) were victorious at No. 3.
- Abady picked up the first singles point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4.
- McCaffrey clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2.
- Dhillon posted a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 1.
- Bellisario ralled for a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3.
- DiGiovanni went to a third set at No. 5 before falling 4-6, 6-3, 12-10.
- McCaffrey improved to 5-4 in singles action including 2-1 at No. 2.
- DiGiovanni and Healy upped their doubles record to 6-3 on the season.
- Goucher is in action twice at home Sunday, facing Moravian at 11 am and Harford Community College at 4 pm at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
- The Gophers will hold Senior Day ceremonies prior to Sunday's second match.
