Gophers Set Landmark Win Record in Regular Season Finale

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College women's tennis team closed out the regular season by recording an 8-1 Landmark Conference victory over Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon. With their sixth Landmark Conference win of the season, the Gophers set a record for Landmark victories in a season.
- Goucher (9-9, 6-1 Landmark) swept Susquehanna (6-9, 1-6) in doubles play.
- Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) and Eliza Abady (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) recorded an 8-1 win at No. 2.
- Anais Dhillon (Cambridge, England/Hills Road Sixth Form College) and Gigi Bellisario (Elmer, N.J./Woodstown) battled for an 8-4 win at No. 1.
- Alex DiGiovanni (York, Pa./Dover) and Sara Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove) were 8-2 winners at No. 3.
- McCaffrey picked up the first singles win for the Gophers, prevailing 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2.
- Dhillon wrapped up the decision with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1.
- Abady won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3, with Bellisario recording a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 4.
- DiGiovanni was victorious at No. 5 by a 6-3, 7-5 count.
- Goucher has won seven of its last eight matches.
- Abady won her fifth straight singles match and earned her 10th singles win of the season.
- DiGiovanni picked up her team-high 12th singles win.
- DiGiovanni and Healy upped their doubles record to 11-4.
- Goucher's six Landmark Conference victories are a program record, surpassing the five conference wins recorded twice.
- Goucher hosts Moravian in a Landmark Conference semifinal Tuesday at 4 at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
