TOWSON, Md. – Goucher surpassed a team attack percentage of .400 in a match for the first time in nearly a decade when the Gophers registered a .448 in tonight's 3-0 triumph in the Sports & Recreation Center over Washington Bible.
Set scores were 25-8, 25-8, 25-7.
With 29 kills and only three hitting errors in their 58 attack attempts, the Gophers finished with a team attack percentage of .448. The last time they were over .400 was on October 30, 1998 when they recorded a .429 in an 18-16, 15-9, 15-10 victory over Eastern Mennonite.
Six different players were credited with at least one kill in tonight's match. Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) was the leader with 10 kills and Carolyn Crissey (Philadelphia, Pa./Creative & Performing Arts) was next with seven.
In running their winning streak against non-conference opponents in the SRC to 11 matches, the Gophers (14-14) also served a season-high 26 aces. Smith was also the leader in aces with eight.
This was Goucher's second victory over the Cougars (1-14) this season.
