Landmark Reveals All-Academic Team for Fall 2009

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2009 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

Landmark Conference Issues Academic Honor Roll

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which is in its third year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 369 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2009 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Forty of the honorees are from Goucher.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Goucher got its shot at preventing Juniata from winning a third consecutive Landmark Conference title today, but the Eagles were up to the challenge and pinned a 3-0 setback on head coach Michael Bossom's Gophers in the semifinals of the 2009 Landmark Conference postseason tournament.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) was credited with 17 kills — one of which was the 1,500th of her career — in leading Goucher to a 3-1 triumph over Lancaster Bible tonight. Set scores were 25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15.

Gophers Go 2-1 in Weekend of Landmark Matches

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — For Goucher, the first weekend of Landmark Conference matches began with a three-set loss to the two-time defending champions. But head coach Michael Bossom's Gophers rebounded to defeat Merchant Marine, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 28-26), in their second match on Saturday and then came back from being down two sets to register a thrilling 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-8) victory over Moravian this afternoon.
