Landmark Reveals All-Academic Team for Fall 2010

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference today announced the names of the 32 student-athletes who make up the 2010 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team, which recognizes two male and two female athletes who have excelled athletically and academically from each of the eight Landmark institutions.

Landmark Conference Issues Fall Academic Honor Roll

MADISON, N.J. — The Landmark Conference, which is in its fourth year of competition and is comprised of eight like-minded institutions in the mid-Atlantic region, today recognized 273 student-athletes for their academic accomplishments by placing them on the on the 2010 Fall Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-nine of the honorees are from Goucher.

Greyhounds Oust Gophers from Landmark Playoffs

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Goucher's 2010 season came to a close tonight when the Gophers were ousted from the Landmark Conference postseason tournament by Moravian. The Greyhounds defeated the Gophers, 3-1, in the quarterfinals.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Goucher's two opponents on the final day of the regular season came into today's tri-match having already 49 matches. Both were able to add to that total by taking down head coach Michael Bossom's Gophers in three sets.

Spartans Spoil Final Home Match for Seniors

TOWSON, Md. — Four seniors playing in the final home match of their careers were in the starting line-up for Goucher tonight as head coach Michael Bossom and his team welcomed York to the Decker Sports & Recreation Center. The Spartans, who began the season by winning 22 of their first 23 matches only to go 3-4 in their last seven, quickly finished off the Gophers, 3-0.

Gophers' Comeback Bid Against Profs Falls Short

GLASSBORO, N.J. — Down 2-1 after the third set, Goucher managed to win the fourth set against Rowan tonight, but that was as far as the comeback would take head coach Michael Bossom's squad. The Profs prevailed in the decisive fifth set to secure a 3-2 non-conference victory over the Gophers.

Gophers Defeat Gators for Second Time in 2010

TOWSON, Md. — It wasn't a three-set sweep like it was the first time, but Goucher did pick up its second win of the season over Notre Dame (Md.) tonight. Playing in front of a Decker Sports & Recreation Center crowd of 116 hearty fans, the Gophers dropped only the second set in pinning a 3-1 setback on the Gators.

Gophers Sweep Mariners, Wrap Up No. 5 Seed in Playoffs

KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Goucher didn't have a guaranteed spot in the upcoming Landmark Conference playoffs going into today's match against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, but when the Gophers swept the Mariners, 3-0, they were not only in, they also nailed down the No. 5 seed.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher appeared headed for an 0-3 start in the Landmark Conference when the Gophers dropped the first two sets in a best-of-five match against Scranton today. But they stayed alive by winning a close third set and then dominated the fourth set before finishing off the Royals in the decisive fifth set.
