Spartans Spoil Final Home Match for Seniors
TOWSON, Md. — Four seniors playing in the final home match of their careers were in the starting line-up for Goucher tonight as head coach Michael Bossom and his team welcomed York to the Decker Sports & Recreation Center. The Spartans, who began the season by winning 22 of their first 23 matches only to go 3-4 in their last seven, quickly finished off the Gophers, 3-0.

Set scores were 25-11, 25-21, 25-19.
One of the seniors, opposite hitter Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial), led the Gophers (7-19) in kills with 12 and finished with a .286 attack percentage, while another, setter Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) was credited with 17 assists.
The other two seniors on Goucher's 2010 roster are defensive specialist Katherine Genton (Madrid, Spain/Cushing Academy) and libero/defensive specialist Rebecca Schaefer (River Edge, N.J./River Dell).
This was the first time the Gophers have played the Spartans (26-5) since the two schools were members of the Capital Athletic Conference. Goucher left the CAC following the 2006-07 academic year to join the Landmark Conference.
